Finally a decent entry on my recent trip to Hong Kong.
Flight: Woke up uber early coz our flight was at 8 and therefore, gotta reach the airport by 6-ish am. Before I start my shopping spree over in HK, my baggage was heavy enough to kill. Sheesh.
We took Cathay and it was a pretty pleasant journey. The food's good. The movie is good. The taking off and landing is good. Just that the air stewardess was pretty rude. The plane landed in HK earlier than expected.
HK Airport: It isn't as nice as you thought, and like what they have shown in the TVB serial but it was clean and BIG. Till the extend that you have to take a train just for the custom clearing.
We waited quite awhile for the airport transfer provided by our CTC and reached Langham Hotel at 1pm.
LangHam Hotel in MongKok: It was known to be one of the newest and most high class in HK but guess what? The toilet lock was faulty. Not once but twice. Even after the repair. My sister was stuck in the toilet in the middle of the night at 3am and it took them bloody long to pick up the call when I tried calling the operator. Unable to fix them immediately, we were asked to swap rooms.
Maybe not Langham again next time. If yes, it's gonna be the suite instead.
Food: What's with the tagline of 买东西,吃东西? I didn't manage to eat all the food HK is popular for unlike in Taiwan, where food is everywhere. Maybe Taiwan should use that tagline instead. Instead of the dim-sum that shouldn't miss, we had meals @ LangHam mall. Western and Japanese food. -_-
Oh, we tried their 茶餐厅. A little sleazy but "好有feel".
Shopping: THAT WAS THE BEST PART. We manage to scrap by their HK big sale and you can't imagine, they are so generous with their discount! Most of the items I bought is like 40-50% off. They are not those "no-one-wants" kind of clothing. Their discount are store wide. OH YA! LeSportSac! My sister and I bought the new Tokidoki range and they were SO much cheaper as compared to Singapore. OMG. I have "blister-lated" feet after all the shopping.
Most the most we bought are 老婆饼 for relatives.
Blythe: ULTIMATE BLYTHE PARADISE! Actually HK is a toy paradise. Along Nathan road, there are many small shopping malls where they sell lotsa toys and youngster clothing. CTMA center especially where I bought 3 neo blythe (Night Flower, V-smash & Rosie Red Encore), 2 petite Blythe & 1 dollcena. I also bought plenty of Kuma items! Omg the most fruitful trip for my toys collection!
There is a shop in Langham mall that sells official blythe clothing, accessories and dolls. But you can guess it, the prices are pretty steep. :/
Other places: We went to Disneyland where we skip the rides just to shop for gifts for friends. We only manage to take the merry-go-round and took photos with the Disney characters. The place is pretty small but really, girls' dreamland.
黄大仙 temple was one of our stops. We wanted to visit our Grand Auntie at the same time as her place is pretty near the temple. We took a cab to her place but the driver drop us off the wrong building. He stops us at 桐乐园 instead of 萄乐园. Luckily they wasn't too far apart.
We visited 阿虫画廊, the very famous artist in HongKong. My Dad love his art work and so we thought of getting him a few for his collection. The location is at Central and therefore we passed by the one of the Asia (or was it world wide?) largest Louis Vuitton boutique. I couldn't resist and bought a card holder there. Silly I know.
Overall: Never go HK during this period of time unless you want the sale but ok with the freaky hot weather. The sun is piercing right thru my skin and I couldn't stop sweating. But when it rains, it can never stop. Luckily we only encounter a day of rain so it doesn't really stop us from going anywhere.
I met up with Andy, a very good friend from HongKong and he brought us to places that we need to get our stuffs from.
I love the language Cantonese. I had a mouthful of them while I was in HK and I really love it. Thou I do speak them while at home but I hardly have friends who can speak them.
I hope I will be able to go back this year end to shop in the cold weather. Or will it be some other country instead?

Caught SUPERMAN RETURNS with baby yesterday and needless to say, I LOVE IT!
Eye-candies many many. But there are parts that I feel they might have overdo it. And they didn't make Lois and Clark being together again! Ugh!
No phonebooth as changing room. Modern life with late 80s dressing. If they are shooting Superman were in 80s, why the modern car and camera phones?
But who can deny Brandon Routh is SO perfect for the role?! Goodness. Please have more sequels by BJ!
