2006 is certainly a bad year I tell you. Never in my life I have met with soooooo many unpleasant people on the street. This one is classic, I must write it down.
My Sister and I went down to town to collect some medicine from the clinic @ the Orchard Building for my Dad. Due to peak hour, we were unable to find any lots so I told my sister to go ahead with the collection while I wait for a lot.
After like 5 minutes, I saw a car leaving and I slowly reversing, AFTER A MULTIPLE CHECK that there is no car behind me. I am like 80% reach my lot. Suddenly when I turn back, I saw this maroon Hyundai Sonata came up to me, so blardy near my car!
I went up once again and let him pass. I stop and wind down my window and ask, "Is everything okie?". Guess what? He RUDELY replied, "ISN'T IT OBVIOUS?!" Wtf?! Do you have to reply in such a manner?
I promptly parked my car and got down, went over to check the so-call damage. Aiyo for godness sake, I won't even consider that as a scratch. So almost-invisible, near the left side rear wheel area. Look, my car also suffer from scratches and it's at the front, which obviously means that it's not my fault, and he is the one who came up to me when I was reversing.
Because I was alone, and there are like 5 person in the car (so outnumbered!), I decided to just apologise and explain my stand. "So sorry about what happened. But I was reversing and before I could realise, your car just came right up next to me..." He shut me off by saying, "So what if you're reversing!". And he went on and on, leaving me with no chance of explain. I was shaken because afterall this is my 1st "accident" after driving for like 2-3 years. Luckily my sister came back on time to negotiate with him.
Remember there was once our car got hit from behind after the driver lost control and unable to stop in time. Our bumper got damage badly and hell no did we yell at the driver, furthermore when the driver is a guy.
This time, this RUDE guy went almost hysterical after his omgjustwhatcarareyoudriving car got SLIGHTLY "bua" by mine (hello, should be you come and "bua" me!). My sister remain claim and said, "Ok, then how should we settle this matter?".
The mother of the RUDE guy went around pointing at some other scratches on the car, TRYING to push the blame at me. Damm. And she said, "Why not just pay cash and settle?!"
HELLO? Are you gonna claim like 100 bucks from me just to touchup sucha small area? The RUDE guy then insist that he will go to the workshop and get it done. Seriously, if I am the workshop technician, I am gonna laugh my ass off after seeing how minor the scratch is.
My sister then proceed taking photos of his so-call scratch and wrote down her number and pass it to him. Then out of courtesy, my sister asked how should we address him. He proudly said: "I am DOCTOR SYN". OHHHHHHH. SO eye opening, the famous Dr C.Syn, being so rude and trying to bully 2 ladies on the street. As a man, are you gonna be so loud to a girl who is barely half of your age, accidently brushing your car with hers, which is purely out of accident. It's logicial that I didn't wanna put my car at risk too. If I wanna pursue, I can also ask for compensation and eye witness to prove that I am not in wrong. But because you're so rude and went on and on like a broken record, we really have no wish to continue wasting our breathe on someone like you. You seriously spoilt the image of a doctor.
Yesterday he smsed my sister and demand for a 40bucks payment for the touchup. I bet it include the rest of the minor scratch around his car. Dammit. I am like, omg? 40 bucks and you can't just pay for it yourself? How much do you seriously earn per month? And driving a.... Sonata?
Forget it. No way are we gonna argue with such a person. 40 bucks to get rid of road pest. Lesson learnt.
Conclusion? You may have High IQ but may have absolute zero EQ too.
Phew. Everything out of me now. Must go temple and "hit small man" to get rid of all bad things around me.
