Chinese Lunar New Year!
Monday, March 01, 2010 10:47 AM I just couldn't keep to my promise about blogging regularly in 2010. I totally lost the mojo for blogging once I go on a relatively long trip. (e.g back for cny and perth.) It's pretty scary to know that it's the 3rd month into 2010 already. This year seems to move on very quickly but I guess it's a good thing. Soon we will be in HK for 2 years already and I am really looking forward to going back to SG for good. [CNY] This time we flew back to SG days before CNY so that we will have time for shopping. I couldn't find anything suitable for new year in HK that's why I always say SG is the best shopping place for me. This year the in laws had early reunion dinner so I am very excited to be able to join my very own family for reunion on new year's eve. I know it's not a normal practice for married daughter and I didn't join them last year. Day 1 was spent with my in laws and house visiting. And of course how can we missed out visiting the temple early in the morning? After temple, we had a hard time finding eatery that opens on 1st day of CNY. My FIL says he remember seeing one of the Bak Kut Teh stall in Balestier advertising on the newspaper saying that they are open. IIRC it's the 933 BKT. Surprised to see that it's not at all packed given that it's one of the many few stalls opening on that day. Since 1st day of CNY is also V-day, the Husband and I thought of catching a movie together so I tried making a reservation via my BB and got a confirmation number. But when we went to Tampines GV to make a collection, I was told there isn't any booking under my name. WTF I was pissed and asked if that's the case, why bother about having an application for online booking?! The cinema is full by the time we were there and no way we can buy tickets on the spot. BAH! No movie so we had a pathetic dinner @ Pasta Mania. I found plastic in my pasta and how lucky can I get? We really regretted having dinner there, totally forgotten about the new mall in Tampines. Tampines 1! We had a good walk at Tampines 1 after dinner and home sweet home we went. The Husband got a LVoely wallet from me, replacing the old one which went outta shape after him squeezing coins in bill compartment. :O I am still waiting for mine, something that can't be bought with just $$... but patience. :P Day 2 was spent at my parents' place. Finally I get to eat the Heng Wah Mee Sua again! Only available in the HO's residence. :P Always look forward to eat it every CNY. After makan, we proceed to my uncle's place for visiting. He have a really impressive garden in his balcony!  Had lunch at his place and waited till it's time for me and the Husband to make our way to the airport. Our flight to perth was supposed to be 7ish but when we reach the airport for check in at around 5pm, we were told that our flight was changed to 5ish. Good lord we ALMOST missed our flight! We make a quick dash to the boarding gate after checking in and once we settle down onto our seats in the flight, the door is closed. Phew! Crazy! [Perth] The in laws reached Perth earlier than us as they took the morning flight instead. So they came to the airport and fetch us and we had supper @ Macdonalds. The subsequent days in Perth was quite leisure and tummy filling. We were constantly munching on food (me, SIL, MIL & Aunt) and the guys (FIL and Hubby) were in charge to be behind the wheels. We visited Fremantle (for the amazing Fish & Chips @ Cicerellos!), Rottnest Island for the beautiful beaches & Margaret River for the wine and chocolate. We had alot of Chinese food in Perth but because my FIL prefer Chinese over Western Food. Not that I am complaining. The Chinese cuisine there is exceptionally good! :)  I WASN'T too hyped up in Perth due to many reasons and one of them is definitely the shopping malls. Perhaps I was too pampered in HK & SG, shopping in Perth can be quite a dread. Flew back to SG on the 20th and we had lotsa catching up with our friends. Glad to be able to meet up with the LJ peeps for durian supper (sorry that I have to leave early to see doctor. Water retention the doctor says! ><), dinner with Jun & Zave (Congrats on the enagagement!! <3) and the Husband's besties for late CNY visiting! :) After all the good times in SG, we flew back to reality on the 23rd to find my house soaked in water, like literately? The weather in HK is INSANELY wet due to high humidity. The celling started to get moldy (the horror!!), the tile walls are dripping with condensation water! I wanted to cry so much but I was too busy trying to make them dry! :( One of our guppy died too!! :( I was so depressed over the wet house that the Husband decided to get me a dehumidifier the next day. I have no idea how it actually works but we leave it on throughout the whole night together with aircon, it's alarm went off 4am that morning and I went to check what happened. I was shocked that it shows the tank is full and I have to pour away 10L of water! I turn it on again and it's alarm went off 9am the next day. Goodness 20L of water sucked out from my room! It's like someone just pour water into our house! I really hope the weather gets better soon because my laundry couldn't dry in time for the next round of laundry to be washed! :( Exicted about the besties visiting us in HK this coming Wednesday! Wednesday, December 16, 2009 2:17 PM Finally able to update on my trip! [Taiwan, Taipei Day 1: 15.11.2009] My 1st time taking flight alone. Initially my plan was to take a flight back to Singapore to meet up my girls (Ailing, Peili, Kaijing & Wenbei) and take the flight to Taipei together with them. But after booking the air ticket, I realise it's much better and less time consuming to fly direct from Hong Kong. Afterall it's over for 1 hour plus only! I was lucky to be able to book a ticket from Hk to TW from Eva Airline. Arrival timing is only 10 minutes difference from the girls. Supposed to take the airport express from my place to the airport. I keep reminding myself to get off T2 but in the end guess what? I got off T1 instead and gotta drag my super heavy luggage over to T2. -_- The flight was okie and I was knock out almost immediately after the flight took off. Thou it's only an hour plus flight, I manage to eat sleep and play games on my iPhone. HAHA Reach Tw and got a call from Ailing mei and realise that they are already on the Freego and coming towards T2 (they were in T1) to pick me up! Alamak I was still waiting for my baggage at the belt and so I ran all the way out to the bus stop and saw Ailing mei walking towards me. So we both ran together with the blardy heavy baggage and up the Freego we go!  After approx. 1 hour journey on the bus, we checked into Rainbow Hotel @ Ximending. Next stop was the Taipei Train station to purchase tickets to Hualien the next day. Had dinner at the steamboat restaurant in the train station. After dinner, we went back to XMD and walk around abit before we call it a day. [Taiwan, Hualien Day 2: 16.11.2009] Woke up extremely early that day, worrying that we might missed the train. Had breakfast @ the Hotel (which was goddamn pathetic -_-) and took the subway to Taipei main station for the train to Hualien. IIRC, the ride was about 3 hours so we spent alot of time doing silly things, sleeping and munching. Didn't manage to eat their 火车便当 because by the time the the trolley reaches all, they are all sold out. :/ Reached Hualien and when we exit from the station, we saw the lady host of our Minshu, 石头之家！ 刘阿姨 is a super nice lady! Together with her is 何先生 who was our tour guide for 2 days. We went to tour around Hualien even before going back to the minshu to place our stuff. But I think the arrangement was good because we only have 1 day in Hualien and we shouldn't waste any precious time!  We visited the Taroko Gorge, and the entire place is about rocks and mountain. Thou it's only rocks but we spent alot of time there. Haha... sorry to say I am not much of a sight-seeing person but it was still quite enjoyable! And of course how can we go on without food? Ling mei will be the 1st to complain! Haha... we ate so much that I have already forgotten what we had! >< I can only recall: Muachee, 小笼包, bao, bubbletea, pork rib noodle, 鲁肉饭， 葱抓饼，大肠包小肠，臭豆腐 and Sashimi! Before going back to the minshu, our tour guide brought us to some shop and bought lotsa firecrackers and fireworks! I always love fireworks but able to set them off ourselves is quite out of the world. Especially in HK and SG. HAHA! No pictures of the playing of firecrackers and fireworks with me thou. We had a blasting time there but I was too afraid to stand near them. I ran away each time I lit them up. T-T After fireworks, we get to release 孔明灯 also! How fun! We scribble lotsa wishes (and rubbish :P) onto the lantern before releasing it up the sky! It flew really high up and took a loooooong time before it disappear completely from our eyes! Lastly before we called it a day in the super big and comfortable minshu, we get to paint and deco our very own pebble. Aiya needless to say I drew Rilakkuma on it. :P 刘阿姨 said that the view from our room can see the sunrise around 6am? (Can't remember the exact timing). I was quite determine to shoot the sunrise so I couldn't really sleep well that night worrying that I might missed it. >< But too bad. The sky was dark and rainy at 6am so sunrise was almost out of sight. :( [Taiwan, Hualien X Taipei Day 3: 17.11.2009] 刘阿姨 prepared our breakfast the next day! It was simple but yet tummy filling. We visited her little farm and had a good laugh at the animals that she kept. :P We were set to go pick up jades at this pond area in Hualien. It was rainy and the water was icy cold but that didn't stop us from stucking out hands into the water and look for jades. I pick up aloooooot of stones but only a few of them are jades. They were really small so not much of a value but for keepsake. We had last minute shopping for muachee and lunch before heading to the train station for our train back to Taipei! :) Thou it was only for a day but I am sure Hualien left a really deep impression in us! Minshu - Stone Home (石頭的家): http://www.sutohome.com/  Back in Taipei in time for dinner! :) But the rainbow hotel really screw up our booking. 1st night we got the room for 5pax. But after we got back from Hualien, they gave us a room for 3 pax and forcefully placed a pathetic additional bed. Then another 1 pax how!?! After a long "talking" with the hotel recep, they compensate us with an additional room for me and ling mei and promised to give us a 5-bed bedroom the next day. UGH After dinner, we decided to go for KTV! Initially wanted to try cashbox but the place looks really intimidating plus they charges are rockethigh! In the end we chose Holiday KTV which was much family style, reasonable priced and comes with freeflow DRINKS & FOOD! Woohoo! KTV ended around 12plus am, we make our way back to the hotel and call it a day. ZZZZ! [Taiwan, Taipei Day 4: 18.11.2009] Planned to go Wufenpu tat day but during the day time, we made our way to some major shopping mall and shopped hours in HANDS. I was down with fever but recovered quickly with panadol. (damn blardy expensive because I bought it in the shopping mall O:) Made our way to Wufenpu in the late afternoon and shopped till nightfall. Must really give in to the rest of the girls when it comes to shopping. HAHA! I AM THE OLDEST AMONG THEM OKIE!? Can't blame me la.  After Wufenpu, we made our way back to the hotel and place down our 战利品 before making our way to Shilin night market. We were all famished when we reached there. So we ate... 大饼包小饼, Oyster egg, chicken backside (my fav!!), superbig chickenchop, mango ice and much more till I can't recall. HAHA! Since Shilin also has shopping area, the girls went frenzy again. I was literately dragging my feet because I have used up all my energy for the day! [Taiwan, Taipei Day 5: 18.11.2009] One of the must-visit place for the girls. Hello Kitty Cafe! We took a weebit long time to get to the cafe because we mix up the correct station to alight. :P The place is gorgeous! I remember going to another Kitty theme cafe a few years back but it's in Danshui instead. The cafe is definitely not bimbo-stic at all! The food is really good and the portion is super huge! I don't think anyone will go there without a camera. Haha we say this lady taking picture throughout our meal. I wonder did she manage to eat her meal at all? Nothing stops me from getting cute stuff! I bought their signature kitty plush! That day was Kaijing & Wenbei last day in Taipei so they have to grab the chance to do last minute shopping in Ximending! We sent the girls to where they wait for the Freego bus to the airport. We bade goodbye to them and make our way to 阿忠 for their famous 面线！ We decided to dabao back to the hotel together with bubble tea and braised chicken wings. Yums!   After dinner we made our way to Raohe night market and spent the rest of the night there. The girls bought a whole lot of stuff and I only bought a hair accessories IIRC. :P So proud of myself! [Taiwan, Taipei Day 6: 19.11.2009] Decided to try their salon for a haircut. The place seems rather "wulu" but service was superb! I didn't cut mine too drastically but Ailing and Peili both had really nice cut! Ailing even got tempted and booked to have her hair permed the next day. Hee After the hair cut, we made our way to SOGO for a little high end shopping. I bought a blusher from Jill Staurt (OMG THE CASE IS TO DIE FOR!) and had afternoon tea + late lunch @ AFTERNOON TEA TEAROOM. LOL. Left Sogo before sunset thinking that we can catch the sunset @ Danshui but it was raining and super cold that evening and we missed everything! >< Can't even go near the 码头 because it's dark and it was rainy with strong wind.  Danshui was the last place I thought I will buy anything but in the end the girls bought quite a bit of stuff. Haha! I am impressed with their shopping instinct! We had a little supper there before heading back to the hotel in a cab. Drop dead tired! >< [Taiwan, Taipei Day 7: 20.11.2009] My last day in Taipei! Because I will be taking a different flight from the girls, I have to leave about 2 hours ahead. After breakfast, Ailing went for her hair appointment while Peili and me wonder around Ximending aimlessly. Still manage to do some last minute shopping before Peili sent me off to take the Freego bus. (Thanks babe for accompanying me! :)) Didn't managed to see Ailing's new hairstyle. Hopefully soon! :) Flight back to HK alone was smooth but lonely. Because I didn't chose my seats online, I requested for aisle seat and was given the last seat on the last row. How nice. :/ I miss the Husband terribly because he is always there with me on a flight holding my hands and making me smile. Sigh. The Husband was at the HKIA to fetch me and I can't wait to see him after being away for almost a week! But the airline sure hates me because my baggage was the last to arrive! BAH! Saw The Husband and I can feel tears in my eyes already. Miss him so much! Thou I brought my netbook along and the hotel has internet but nothing beats hearing his voice and seeing him in person! (Oh I just got back my mobilephone bill and our phone calls chalk up to SGD200! *gasps!*) It was a really fun trip overall and I am really happy to be able to travel with my besties! It was like a dream come true. A graduation trip that finally fulfilled after a long while! :) Thanks besties for giving me so much beautiful memories! I love all of you and looking forward to many trips together with you all! <3 After settling down back in HK and finally managed to finish washing all my laundry, the Husband and I were set to fly to Beijing from 28 Nov - 5 Dec. He went there to attend some training but stayed in the hotel provided while I decided to tag along but stayed with my relatives instead. My main purpose of going there is to celebrate the Husband's birthday while he insisted of me joining him because he doesn't want me to be in Hk alone. <3 Nothing fanciful in Bejing other then the crazily cold weather and non-stop eating and shopping. I gained an obscene amount of weight in Beijing instead of Taiwan and now I am still trying to shed them off! T-T   That's it for the trips! OMG I can't believe I spent 2 days to write this super long entry. I hope it doesn't flood your screen with my wall-of-text and pictures and many typo which I am too lazy to check! Sunday, December 06, 2009 8:59 PM Feeling super disoriented after coming back to Hong Kong. The unpacking and mountains of unwashed winter clothings are driving me crazy. The one week in Beijing was a test for me. Then I realise... I CAN'T DO WITHOUT INTERNET! No facebook, no twitter, no blogs, hardly able to check email... omg I don't know why they ban fb/tweet/blogspot in china. I think it's insane. Thank god the Husband is not working in China! >< Will try to blog about my trip to TW and BJ. Tuesday, November 24, 2009 11:05 AM  OMOCHA-LAND'S COLLECTION 3 IS UP!!! Please show some love! <3 I am back from Taiwan with the besties since Saturday but my mind have yet to settle down. Just finished all the unpacking, washing and cleaning but the Husband and I will be flying off again to Beijing this weekend. As much as I love travelling, I start to dread about coming back home with a thousand things to be done. Packing, Unpacking, Washing, Cleaning. And the cycle goes on and on. -_- We spent a bomb on winter clothings because ours are all left in Singapore. UGH I shouldn't have brought them back but because our Hong Kong place's waredrobe is so tiny, I have to bring back winter clothings to Singapore during summer and summer clothings during winter. Now that it's winter, we have to survive in our 1 and only winter jacket until it's time to go back to Singapore and pick them up again. Will post about the Taiwan trip when I am back from Beijing! Friday, October 30, 2009 12:51 PM Wah so paisay to neglect my blog for so long... After coming back from Bangkok, everyday I have been busy sitting infront of the laptop... photoshopping and playing around with the livejournal template. I really hate CSS. HTML is so much simpler! But I am glad I sorta figured it out and the layout is finalised. OH incase you guys don't know yet... the Rilakkuma stocks are here! WOOHOO! Not alot... because almost more than half of my order went out of stock. But for now, we can just make do with what are available! A little sad that I can't be in Singapore to open up the boxes and take a good look at the goods. But I can trust my sister to QC them and sort them out! :) Thanks Jie! Tentatively we are looking to launch the blogshop on the 1st Nov (which is the Husband and my 1st wedding anniversary!) so do keep a lookout at this space for more updates! <3 Now back to our BKK trip. The night before our trip, the Husband have to stay back in the office to finish up his work so that he can ease off some workload when he goes back after the vacation. But little did I expect him to come back only at 5am! We have to reach the airport by 8am, which means leaving home at about 7plus. Poor baby only have 2 hours of sleep... As usual we went back to Baiyoke Sky for our accomodation. But seems like they really have little maintenance work done to the hotel. I remember my last trip there was lovely but this time, everytime is old and more expensive. -_- Nevertheless I am glad they still make the effort to decorate our room after us informing them that we are here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Well, to them, is Honeymoon. We step into the room with aircon fully blasting the room (love it when the weather is insanely hot in BKK!), cake and fruits on the table and rose petals on the bed, in the basin and bathtub.   Well, one of the many reason for choosing Baiyoke Sky is also because they provide shuttle service to Siam Discovery. Super convenient! So everyday we have to make sure we didn't miss the bus (which operates every hour only) and for the rest of the days in BKK, we have been going to the same places because we are too spoilt. Hahaha... 1st stop was of course Fuji for lunch! OH how I miss their food. We had a hard time choosing what to eat so in the end we order so much that our table couldn't contain all of them. After late lunch, we simply walk around Siam Discovery, Siam Paragon and some nearby shopping malls and before we realise, it's time for dinner. We decided to make our way back to the hotel to order room service (which they claim they have the best Tom Yam soup!) and enjoy te complimentary foot massage provided by the hotel. For the next few days, yes, WE WENT BACK TO THE SAME MALL again and again. But we surprisely we have things to buy everytime we went back. :/ So to save the trouble of repeating the boring itinerary, here are the places and food we ate. :P Shopping: - Siam Discovery - Siam Paragon - Central World - MBK - Platinum Mall - Some other malls which I can't even remmeber the name Food: - Fuji - Room service - MK steamboat - Food court in Siam Paragon (which is surprisingly GOOD and CHEAP!) Things we bought: - Clothes & Shoes - Toys (!!) - Snacks Activity: - Massage - Massage - Massage VERY BORING I KNOW! But our plan for this trip is to R&R so we didn't really follow any itinerary. We simply just walk what we see, eat what we see, buy what we see. :P Anyway, here are the rest of the photos!   I really hate not updating but for now, please forgive me while I get busy with the start of the Rilakkuma blogshop! Wednesday, October 14, 2009 10:34 AM These days I spent most of my time staring at the tv watching 2 super nice korea dramas.
(not sure why they never fix a name for their show!) Anyway both also starring Yoon Sang Hyeon(*swoon*), which look sooooo much like Takuya Kimura! I love Yoon Eun Hye too! She look so pretty in My Fair Lady and all her outfits in the show are gorgeous beyond words. Totally recommend both dramas. Even the Husband are crazy about Queens of Housewives. HEE! Other than watching kdrama, I was fussing over my gigantic boil that grew right in the middle of my forehead. I may not have the best complexion around but I rarely have such serious case of acne. But thank god it's getting better now. All thanks to SKII's miracle water. :P The night before the boil appear, I suddenly had high fever which I think is related to it. It's like an infection of some sort. So I popped 2 paracetamol before going to the bed early. Luckily the fever subsides the next day so I am well enough to go Shen Zhen with the Husband and his colleagues. This is our 2nd time going to Shen Zhen but to a different part if it. Basically it's a eat shop walk trip! The serving of the food there was extremely huge!! And they are all like 10 course meal lor! I didn't manage to take the pictures of all the food because everytime after 4 dishes, I will be too busy eating instead of snapping pictures. :P Was feeling restless throughout the trip because I just recovered from the fever and the medication I took makes me sleepy. Sigh. The itinerary of the day was: Lunch -> Shopping -> Mega bookstore -> Oil painting cultural village -> Dinner -> Home Initially we promised to join the rest for KTV but we are super tired by the end of the day already. Must be a sign of ageing! HAHA!  Sometimes I want to update my blog like everyday with some random stuff and photos but not sure why I dislike the idea of having to post short entry. >< Maybe I should if not it seems like my blog is getting stagnant. Wednesday, September 30, 2009 9:36 AM My weekends was a blast! I always look forward to weekends even if it's just staying at home. Nothing beats having the Husband around me the whole day. On Saturday, I was invited to tag along for the Husband's usual basketball game organised by his colleagues. Thou I wasn't really keen in getting sweaty because I was still nursing a cough, I had a great time mingling around and taking pictures of the game. Nevertheless I did tried my hands on some ball shooting. And when was the last time I tried shooting a ball?! During my secondary school days?! Will never forget all the good old times I had during netball tournaments and practise! I was GA and GS okie?! Hahah... After the game, some of us proceed to Redbox @ New Kowloon Plaza (woooo very near our place!) for some k-session. AND when was the last time I sang K again? (Wah seems like after moving here, there are alot of things we stop doing already!) OH YES. During my Hens night (bachelorette night) with my favorite girls! Somehow a KTV room reminds me of the dating days I had with the Husband. In the past I think we spent like 1/3 of our time dating in a KTV room because both of us were crazy about singing PLUS our 1st date/meeting was at a KTV okie?! So every now and then I will ask him, if he still remember our 1st date... I will remind him that he was late and made me wait while he will say that he hate my "khaki green" skirt that I wore that day. YAH... I love "Safari"... so I love "Khaki Green". Cannot meh?! At least I don't wear "RAD Bigini" and DROP down orchard road leh. :P Anyway I am super impressed by the voice of the Husband colleagues. They can sing SO WELL! I swear it's the air in Hong Kong! EVERYONE CAN SING! We had Leon Lai and Stefanie Sun in the house and I truly enjoyed myself. :)  Sunday was reserved for Sogo sale and in search of some items for my friends! My priority was to buy the Durian Mooncake at Sogo and coincidently I received leaflet that they are having sale at the same time too. Look at our 战利品！  The 1st shop I saw when I reached Sogo was Longchamp! They were having a 50% discount for some of their Le pliage range items. I bought the small size long handle one in Peony color.  Now I have a mini collection of Longchamp bags! All in difference sizes and color. But I bought 3 of them during Longchamp sale (mostly 50% discount! am I lucky or what!) and the one in Green was a gift from the Husband. Red one is for beach outing. Black, I am using it everyday for meals and groceries shopping. Green for travelling. And Peony, not sure yet since I just got it but I think it's good to bring it out for shopping! Good size and long handle for easy carrying. I have been nagging the Husband to get a new pair of working shoes because he have been wearing the old one for the past 5 years! I know he finds them comfortable and nice but the shoes is falling apart and they are starting to "Talk" to me already. >< Out of 10 times, I think only 2 times the Husband will buy something for himself willingly. If not the other 8 times I have to force him to try and buy what's neccessary. *puke blood* Maybe shopping is just not in the man's blood. I am surprised that the Husband actually manage to find something that caught his eyes and willingly tried them on. But I must say he have good eyes. Geox is a good brand, the design is classic and it has breathable sole. Geox was having a 10%+10% discount so I must say its a good buy!  The leaflet also stated that Tokidoki tees were having sale. Super excited because I LOVE Tokidoki!  I like the cut of the grey tee on the Husband. Perfect fit! And I love the design on the black tee that I have chosen. It was only when we have paid and left Tokidoi before we realise that maybe I should get another one of the same design so we can have a couple tee! <3 Last stop will be the Durian Moonies because they have to be kept cool so we thought by getting it last, we can go home straight after that.  We bought the D24 one because MaoShanWang is EXTRAORDINARY EXPENSIVE LA! I think D24 is good enough. Have yet to try them... maybe tonight! It says it's a product of Singapore. But I never seen this brand in Singapore before wo. My all time favourite will be Goodwood Park Hotel one. Beat all other brands both hands down! We were on our way home before the Husband asked if I would like to check our Beatles Rockband at Sino Center. He knows me the best! :) Saw the Wii version instead of Xbox one and it's selling at 2300hkd?!?!?!?! I can buy another console with that price! Another shop quote me 2700hkd lor!!! I must be insane if I agree to get it on the spot. -_- Anyway looking at the price, it sorta make me give up about getting one. Either that or I shall wait for the Asian official release (not sure if they are gonna do that but it's definitely cheaper this way) before I break my bank to get them. Sino Center was just a few building away from CTMA so we decided to go there take a look at the Camera Strap that I wanted to buy. The old one was fill with sweat it's sticky..... :/  Love the pink and like the fact that it's silm and comfy on my neck. It doesn't matter that it doesn't have Canon on it. :P And that concludes my super weekends! I am looking forward to the short trip with the Husband to Bangkok next month! Knowing that he can't join me for my Taiwan trip with my girls, the Bangkok trip will be perfect to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary and to give the Husband a good break from his never ending work... Monday, May 04, 2009 12:16 AM For a moment I have forgotten this little space of mine... have the urge to stop blogging completely because I am like 80% lazy most of the time. But this domain is very precious to me so I guess, I will just try my best to keep it alive for now... Ever since the 1st confirmed case of Swine Flu in Hong Kong, almost 40% of the people I see on the street (especially non-locals) are wearing mask these days. I am not sure if it's being too kiasu by doing so but we tried to look for mask over the weekend but failed to stock up any. It's practically out of stock everywhere! Since the Husband's office is giving out some to their staffs so I ask him to bring 1 or 2 back home just in case. :P Labour Day started quite sadly with one of my guppy passed away...  I have been keeping 10 guppies for almost half year already... and to me is a great deal since my metality is that guppies doesn't have a long lifespan... But the night before, I found this smallest one swimming on it's side way. It's kind shocking because during the day, all 10 of them are acting as per normal and active. I am not sure what's the cause of it but my guess is bladder disorder. My landlord was over at our place the other day and she ask us why we kept 10 instead of 9 because 9 fishes in Fengshui bring good luck to the one living in the house. I never thought that keeping fish will give me luck at the 1st place so I can't really be bothered about the number of fishes in my tank. On the positive side, maybe the guppy overhead what the landlord said and sacrifice itself to give us a better fengshui. :( In the afternoon, we had high tea @ Yung Kee with the Husband's ex-colleagues who came over to Hong Kong for vacation. I always like to see how happy the Hubby is when his friends visit him in Hong Kong. We had a great time catching up with great company over great food.  On Sunday, I went to the Rilakkuma store to collect the stuff I pre-ordered. Wanted to get more of the earphone but was told it's out of stock everywhere even in Japan. The shop wasn't able to cover all their pre-ordered list and I was lucky to be the 1st few who pre-ordered. Glad that Tricia got hers and I regretted not pre-ordering mine together with hers too. And sorry babe, that I can't get more for your friends... Remember I bought the SD-card holder too? Instead of putting SD cards inside (which I don't need another pouch since my camera pouch have extra compartment), I store all my amulet with me... Not sure if everyone does that but I have the habit of carrying all different kind of amulet with me when I go travelling or whatever else that need "protection" and luck.  Everything inside was bought by my Mum for me. :) And I like how the clasp on the pouch can hook onto my 虎眼 bracelet. One last thing before I go... Finally we are going for our long await honeymoon to..........  T O K Y O! Omg my land of Rilakkuma! I MUST TAKE PICTURE WITH HIM! From 14th-20th June. Monday, November 24, 2008 10:51 AM Good morning! One of the rare mondays where I feel pretty perk up and fresh. Just finish doing my daily routine and now the house is spick-and-span! *shing shing* I was staring at the celling light and wondering how should I take out one of the many bulb which stop functioning a couple of weeks back. We went to check out the extendable ladder at the supermarket the other day and they cost liek 100+sgd for it! Decided not to use it since we only need to use it to change lightbulb, which you don't need to do it so frequent! So just now I went to stack a stool on top of the Ikea coffee table (god knows how much weight it can support -_-') and I climb up and squat at the stool for a good long 5 minutes wonder if I should take the risk stand up to reach for the lightbulb. What if I fell down and the hubby will only be back at night?! By the time I turn smelly liao la! HAHAHA! Anyway I still managed to convince myself to stand up and quickly screw the bulb out from the celling light. Ugh takes forever. Tadah! After procrastinating for soooooo long, finally we can get more brightness in the house! hohoho! Saturday to Shenzhen was pretty fun! Met up with the Husband's colleagues at one of the bus stop in Prince Edward in the morning and took a chartered bus into Shenzhen. It was my 1st time meeting them and they are really nice people! Took us about an hour and a half to go through the custom and reach the shopping mall where we had our dimsum lunch. Dimsum in Shenzhen is pretty different from HK. I prefer the HK one la of coz. Haha... They have spicy udon, singapore style fried rice, beehoon and fried mee, mutton meat with skin (heard it has really good collegen inside. good for skin!), deep fried herbal jelly dip in condense milk (omg! so nice!) and some usual stuff like baos, hargaos, siewmais... No pics of food thou! :P  After lunch, we took the bus to a country club where we play golf at the driving range... Been a long long time since I last touch the golf club but luckily I still manage to hit the ball off the ground. Haha... The husband pick it up real quick and seems like a pro after a couple of rounds. :P After 2 hours of intensive "exercise", we lef the club and head towards our dinner destination. It's a village style restaurant and they sell all sorts of exotic food like CATS (!!!) and swan... ugh. I will never EVER eat cat meat!!! *vomit* Anyway we trust one of the colleague to choose the menu for us and we thought we were safe. Apparently it's not. There was this dish of harmless looking fried egg which look really decent and nice. So I took plenty of it. I did saw something long and round and I thought it's egg crumbs. But later I was told it's WORMS! GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I can't believe I ate WORMS LOR! WAH LAU! But it's tasteless and the egg taste so good leh. Damn... next time I go china I better make sure I order my own food. :( Anyway the dinner was pretty okie la. Got roasted goose which I love! It was a long day and we only managed to get by home by 10pm. Phew!

Unlike my friends who find CNY fulfilling, my CNY is always about staying at home, not much relatives popping by to visit. The worse part is that we have to spend it at the jurong house, which is so blardy far away from Town. :(
[除夕夜] We had reunion dinner @ TungLok Tuas, went to the temple at night, wait for the right time to welcome the fortune god and 守歲 for my parents...
[大年初一] Some close relatives came over, had my favourite meesua, baby and his family came over for visiting and we went out to catch CJ7 in Vivo. [大年初二] Baby came over for visiting, we went back to his place for visiting, evening went to his family chalet and home sweet home for me. I guess the best part of CNY is having a class gathering at Ailing mei's house. Really gotta thank her mum's help for preparing the steamboat dinner. We had lotsa fun (under statment!) and the wii I brought along helps abit too. Blackjack-ed and I won some money. Not much but statisfied. :) Man, I can't forget the taste of the cheese sotong ball! Oh so good! Korea trip:
[Day 1] We set off on the 11th of Feb, taking a night flight to Korea. I can hardly take a nap because my back was aching like mad due to the position of the seat. We reach Seoul like 5+am and took a domestic flight to Jeju. I totally underestimated the weather in Korea. I thought I brought enough to cover myself but the weather was practically freezing my ass off. I even bought a cap and a extra thick pair of gloves there but my fingers were still numb. The only thing which is good enough to keep me warm is my pair of Ugg boots. They are god sent. My feet were the only place that feel warm. haha. Smoke comes out from our mouth when we talk. It's really amusing. [Day 2] We were supposed to spend a day in Jeju. Actually I can't really remember what I did there because I really had brain freeze. All I can remember was puking in the coach because the flight to Jeju met with a bad turbulence and the jerky coach didn't help much for my recovery in time. [Hotel: KAL Hotel ****] okok. Now I remember having bbq pork for my 1st meal in Jeju. hahaah. And also, because the weather was TOO cold, everyone in the tour group refuse to get off the bus when we are supposed to go for a night shopping. So in the end we went back to the hotel pretty early. -_-
[Day 3] The next day, we finally see snow! It was snowing at Mt Halla where the famous "Ghost Road" were found. Cars actually roll up the slope instead of rolling down. we took a flight back to Seoul and thats where the real journey starts man. [Hotel: Millennium Seoul Hilton hotel ******] We practically change hotel every single day. But the good part about SA Tour is that all the hotel we stayed in are 4-6 stars hotel. Since I am quite particular about accomodation... hehehehehe.
[Day 4] Woke up extremely early that day and we set off to Yong Pyong Ski Resort. Wah the cold-ness in Yong Pyong is blardy scary. No way I can just stand still there. I have to keep fidgiding to keep warm. Tried skiing for the 1st time. It's pretty scary leh. I realise I am not really good at sports that require good balance and "rolling". Baby and his family enjoyed thou. Hee. It's was V-day that day. Didn't celebrate it thou but it's still good to have each other by the side and enjoy the snowing scene. Pretty romantic! We also tried playing with fireworks while our feet sunking into the snow. [Hotel: Dragon Valley Resort ****] [Day 5] That morning, we woke up early and took a cable car up to Cafe Cheo-Um where they shoot Winter Sontana. The temperature up there was even colder than the resort area. It was snowing quite heavily and the snow was very thick. My boots was once stuck in the snow and I almost fell down. :/ But it was a very pretty scene! I can even see the very pretty shape of the snow flakes that land on my gloves but I couldn't take photo of them because my fingers are numb. Haha. We left Yong Pyong and head towards Spa Castle Resort where they have spa and outdoor playground pool. A little disappointed that I can't go along for the spa and swim as my period came at the PERFECT timing (2nd day of the trip) but it's okie! I watch TV for the whole time when the rest are out enjoying. Have to jot down this funny incident. I actually washed my lingeries and place them at the balcony to air them thinking that since it's so windy outside, my lingeries should be able to dry by tomorrow. But who knows 2 hours later, I found my underwear frozen in ice and I got a shock. Haha... in the end I place it under the light to de-froze it and dry it. I love the resort because each unit comes with 2 bedrooms, one living room with kitchen. One room with a queen size bed and the other with tatami on heated flooring. It looks like a really luxury service apartment. [Hotel: Spa Castle Resort *****] [Day 6] Felt a little sad to leave the resort. We head our way to the famous Premium Outlet store where they have many branded store all situation next to each other. Didn't get anything because at the price, I can get newer season in Singapore. Visited the famous Everland. Took the Gondola to the other end of Everland and it's freezing lor! Other than going for the Safari ride, I tried nothing else. Bought some cute ear muffles from the souvenir shop thou. Went shopping at Dongdaemun. I think it's overly-hyped because I didn't get a single thing there. Baby and I took about 30 minutes finished walking around and spend the rest of the time sitting in the cafe drinking and waiting for the rest. [Hotel: Riviera Hotel ****] [Day 7] I guess I am not really into historical sight-seeing. I can't remember a single name of the location we visited! >< Quite excited about going Lotte World thou. We didn't went out for their outdoor rides because it was really cold and in the end we took only 2 rides in the indoor amusment park. I hate 炸醬麵. Period. [Hotel: Lotte World Hotel ******] [Day 8] Since it's last day, itinerary was pretty simple. Shopping @ Shinch'on and the tour guide brought us to a place where they sell lotsa local goodies. =Home sweet home!= What I learn about Korea? - Samsung, Hyundai and Lotte are everywhere! Alot of apartment also belong to them. Man... can imagine how rich they are. - Now I know why Koreans are hardly big in size. The food they eat are always healthy! I didn't even put on an ounce after eating SO MUCH there. - They have really sweet strawberry and orange leh! Love love love the strawberry so much! - Some Koreans can be quite rude... :/ - Suddenly I fell in love with BBQ pork and rice. - Korea is a very clean country. I think to a certain extend, they are even cleaner than Singapore. - Perhaps Korea is not a good place for shopping for me. I brought like 500 SGD of Korea Won and in the end I used less than 2 third of it. Baby and I celebrated belated V-day last Monday. We had a really sweet but simple date by doing a little shopping, watching a movie and have a nice dinner together. We hardly have time to do all these in a day ever since he started working... Really cherish all the time we spent together! Phuket trip: Was supposed to fly on Tuesday evening. Baby and I reach 1st and I was puzzled why the flight departure information board didn't indicate the details of the flight we are taking that day but baby told me perhaps they have yet to update it. -_- While waiting for our friends, we realise something is not right so baby went to the check in counter and asked about the flight but in the end we were told that our flight was postpone to next day morning! OMG. Imgaine all of us lugged our barang all the way to the airport and got a rude shock about the flight postpone. Ugh! In the end, we tried calling the hotel in Phuket to cancel that night's accomodation but was told that it's too late for them to cancel and they have to charge us as usual! UUGGGGGGGH! Not sure if the rest decided to complain to Jetstar about this situation but having to pay for a night stay for nothing when it's not our fault, I don't think I can just let the matter rest. Anyway, the only consolation we have is that since it's a morning flight next day, in return we were given another day to enjoy ourselves.
[Day 1] Reached Phuket airport and took the airport transport which was arranged by the resort and check in Sugar Palm Kata. We stayed near Kata Beach throughout our trip. The hotel is situated just 3 minutes walk to the Kata Beach. Cleanliness is passable and the outlook is pretty much like a boutique hotel. Not too bad! We spent like half a day in Kata beach Suntanning and the girls trying to do a sand (mud) spa on me. After getting all grilled and sandy, we went back to the resort and soak in the pool for another hour. Good food is everywhere Phuket and we were quite spoilt for choice. So in the end we chose to eat authentic thai food. Don't expect us to eat western food in Thailand right? :P What's better than a foot massage after walking for the whole day? Totally relaxing!
[Day 2] We didn't managed to book the little trip to Phi Phi island on time so we went shopping at Phuket town instead. After breakfast, we took a mini van to Phuket Town and spend a few hours wondering around the Central shopping mall. Had MK for lunch! I love MK! Our plan was to go clubbing at Patong beach so we took a Tuk Tuk to Patong Beach's Bangla road. Thinking that we were too early, we spend some time at the Beach before making our way to have dinner and find a good pub to settle down. But after dinner, we realise alot of Pub are closed and unsure about the reason behind it, we went back to Kata (via a taxi which squeeze all 6 of us in it!) and thought of buying beer back to the resort and have a mini party in the room. To our surprise, 7-11 is not selling beer too! And it have a piece of note stuck on the fridge, stating that beer won't be sold during National Election and will only resume the sales on Monday. Wow... didn't know it's a rule not to sell beer during election! Something new I learnt during the trip. Anyway some other shops still sell beer despite the election so got it from somewhere else instead of 7-11. But before the guys decided to drink the night away, we went for a full body massage. :P
[Day 3] Have to wake up early for the Phi Phi island trip! Had a very early breakfast and we were picked up from our resort to the pier where we take the speedboat to Phi Phi. The package we took up include going to Phi Phi Island, Maya Bay and Khai Beach. Include drinks and fruits plus lunch. Pretty exciting! We did snorkeling, kayaking, sun tanning and swimming in the sea. I can't swim for nuts... so it took me only 3 minutes snorkeling in the sea before coming close to tears, insist of going back to the speedboat. :P I was struggling pretty badly once I was in the sea as my lifevest was very loose and almost came off. My upper body is sinking and my butt keeps floating in the surface of the water. So naturally, the 1st thing I did was to held on tightly to baby. In the midst of the struggling, I kept pushing him down in the water and almost drown him. >< My bad! The tour around the beaches occupied us for almost half a day. By the time we got back to the hotel, we are starving already. Dinner was excellent and statisfying! ^^ [Day 4] Woke up slightly later for breakfast and we check out at 12pm. Left our baggage at the hotel and we took a Tuk Tuk to Karon beach for shopping. Karon was pretty disappointing because the stuffs sold in the market are more expensive than Kata. Furthermore all the shopowners are not friendly at all. After lunch, we walk all the way back to Kata from Karon. Did all last minute shopping and foot massage (happy!) before we make our way to the airport. Upon reaching, the uber long and slow queue almost killed us. We queued for more than an hour before we can check in and realise that there is NO queue in Terminal 2, where we are supposed to check in! After the check in queue, we have to queue again at the immigration. Imagine our horror when we realise that we are late for boarding. But because the entire airport got jammed, therefore all flights got delay. -_- By the time we reach home, both of us totally zonked out. zzzzz What I learn about Phuket? - Things are not as cheap as BKK. - I feel that they sorta discriminate chinese. - Funny quotes from them: "Same same but different", "Cheap cheap". - They think that all Singaporeans speak with a "Lah" and a "Lor". Met up with Ailing mei and Peili for dinner on Monday. Always very happy to catch up with them again! ^^
Cityview: Gotten the letter from Hoihup and received a queue number to select a unit. But the queue number wasn't very ideal and I was checking online for the flats availabilty, the units that we are interested in are taken up. There are many factors out there stopping us from getting the house anyway... and the most important factor is that my Inlaws wasn't very supportive about it as they think that HDB won't appreciate anytime soon. It's a really painful choice for me to let this dreamhouse go. But I don't want baby to be torn in between us and I know it's important to have supports from our parents before we can go ahead to book a unit. Sigh. I wish i can get over it soon. But it's just opposite my block leh. And I will sure see it everyday when I go to and fro from work. :( So now, we are keeping a lookout for freehold condos around our area. Since my Inlaws are pretty good with property investment... I guess I shall just let them decide for us. Food For Thought: The greatest kind of love isn't just about what you can do for the one you love. But it's about what can you do to yourself, for the one you love. I was reading this blog about this girl coping and living strong after losing her significant half. She move on, maybe not always smoothly, without forgetting him. I am not sure I can be half as brave as her because I always thought that if one day I were to lose the one I love very much, I will prolly find my way to join him. :/ Her entries made me cry. And I definitely learnt a great lesson from her. Cherish every moment you have with your love ones. Friday, December 28, 2007 10:45 AM I am back! I thought the server migration may take up to 2 days but everything is up in less than 2 hours! To cut the story short, I have switch from poznet to namecheap. Last weekend, Peili, Ailing mei, baby and I had a short weekend getaway at Bintan from Sat to Sun. We stayed in Bintan Lagoon resort and our ferry "sail" off at 5pm. the journey took about 45min and luckily I didn't puke due to seasick. :P Time check when we reach the resort: almost 8pm! We were all famished and decided to try their inhouse buffet dinner! Quite wide spread and cost S$45 buckeroos! After dinner, we went to explore the resort and pop by their "leisure" corner. They have really old school arcade games. So we played table tennis instead. Hee...  By the time the game ends, we were all drench with our own sweat. Never knew table tennis can be this much fun! It's again that time of the day, back to our room, shower and zzzzz! We woke up pretty early (btw, Bintan time is one hr behind Singapore time) and had their complimentary breakfast buffet. After which, we jalan down to the beach which is just a few hundred steps away from our room. Thou the beach is not extremely clean but its definitely better than ours. :/ Had lotsa crazy moments there and taken lotsa photos. We left our mark written on the sand before leaving the beach. We popby the pool after that but we have problems removing tar on our feet from the beach. But the guard of the pool is really nice and gave us some coconut oil to rub the black tar off. Very effective! 果然是独门秘方！ After swimming, we went back to our rooms, showered and ready to check out. We took a shuttle bus to the famous Pasar Oleh Oleh for shopping, eating and massaging. The lunch and dinner there was EXTREMELY good! After a heavy lunch, we shop around and found cheap Polo Ralph. It's like everywhere in Bintan. The price is cheap and quality is good. The best thing is, they are not fake. It didn't take us too long to digest our lunch and proceed for our body massage. All of us had full body and foot massage except for Peili who opt for Manicure instead of food massage. It was good and cheap! I even fell asleep while having body massage. HEE! The weather was really kind to us and didn't rain until the very moment we leaving Bintan.  I will definately going back! :) On monday xmas eve, 24th Of Dec, the usual gang met up for Xmas celebration @ Citylink. Actually there is a hidden agenda, which is to celebration Ailing's Birthday too! We bought our girl a Tiffany and Co necklace with pendant. The surprise was kinda screw up due to some misunderstanding of handling the cake with the restaurant. But I am glad Mei still enjoy herself!  Me.Baby.Ailing.Peili.Kaijing.Guangming.Huihuang.Dylan.Chunsiak On Xmas day itself, baby and I didn't fight against the crowd in town. We slept in late instead and proceed for lunch at Tiong Bahru Market. People's Park was our next stop. And so the deed is done. We are going to KOREA ON 11 FEB 2008! Woot! I am gonna see snow snow snow! So happy! Initially I hesistated about going but my MIL insist that we should go together as a family and so, I have decided to save up and have a fun trip there. :) Sometimes I wish I will get to go travel with my own parents too... Never in my life I have travel with them before. My Dad refused to take time away from work to travel. Plus both of their health are not good... :( Sigh. Anyway that means I will be on long holiday in Feb. From CNY to Korea to Phuket. I am so looking forward to it! :) Rounding 2007 up: - Bought my very own DSLR - Travel to Beijing for the very 1st time and 3rd time to Hongkong within a year. - Baby proposed to me on my very 1st Helicopter ride. - 1st time stepping into Hong Kong Penisular Hotel, and evening having dinner there! - Sold another song. - We ROM-ed! - Attended our 1st wedding show. - Confirm our wedding venue in Oriental Hotel. - Celebrated National Day in Marina Mandarin Hotel with my Family. - Celebrated my 23rd with a bunch of bestie! - Visited Bangkok! - Visited Bintan! ........ What else? 2007 was sucha blast! I am sure 2008 will be even better! ^^ 2008 Wishlist (Resolution): - Get that ballot at Cityview @ Boon Keng - That pair of chocolate tall Ugg boots - Apple iPhone - Ricoh GRD II - Pay rise - Travel with my own family! - Perfect wedding. ^^ - Japan for Honeymoon (or Europe if Angbao got extra!)
